...AND FINALLY... TEXT AND E-MAIL GO AIRBORNE
by Mike Martin
01/09/2002

Virgin Atlantic announced recently that it will be the first airline to offer SMS and email services to its passengers!

Passengers in all classes will be able to send emails and SMS text from seat back television screens to phones or computers on the ground.  Messages will be up to 160 characters and cost £1.75.

Virgin Atlantic has already installed the system on one aircraft, with three more to be kitted out in September. The rest of the fleet will follow. Passengers will also be able to receive messages later this year.
